Becoming a climate positive workforce

Professional recruitment specialist, NC Associates announce they’ve taken steps to become a climate positive workforce.

They’ve teamed up with Ecologi, who fund two different types of climate action: one is the planting of trees, and the other is supporting a wide range of climate projects such as reforestation, rainforest protection, supplying clean drinking water, wind turbines, solar power plants, and clean cooking stoves.

In light of the recent call for change at COP26, the team at NC Associates believes it’s important that now, more than ever, businesses take action. By joining forces with an environmental organisation, all of the company’s employees will have their carbon footprint offset; including all of their travel, energy use, food and hobbies that occur inside or outside of the business.

As part of this initiative, the NC Associates team have also decided to plant a tree for different actions in their business. So, for every job that is placed through NC Associates, any referrals submitted, Google reviews that are given, to new clients who chose to work with the business… all of these actions will automatically contribute towards their tree planting each month, which ultimately helps restore healthy forests in places such as Mozambique, Madagascar and the UK.

NC Associates launch new website

NC Associates, the professional services recruitment business in the Group’s portfolio, launched its new website recently. Following ongoing expansion of its range of specialisms beyond its traditional accountancy and finance, a new website was commissioned and launched to reflect the expanded scope of operations.

The new website has been created with their clients and candidates in mind, with an updated design, refreshed content, and easier navigation. The website now provides extra information about the services provided to clients and candidates, in the ‘how we work with candidates‘ and ‘how we work with clients‘ sections.

Harrison Sands announce new hire

NC Associates fundraising

The team at NC Associates are delighted to announce they’ll be supporting the Barrie Wells Trust and their Box4Kids initiative whilst undertaking the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on 5th October.

Barrie Wells Trust was founded in 2009 by entrepreneur and philanthropist Barrie Wells. The Box4Kids initiative is run by the Trust and invites seriously ill children from hospitals to enjoy a sporting or entertainment event in the luxury of an executive box. Not only do these boxes provide VIP treatment for the children, but they’re also a safe environment for children with severe medical needs. To date, the initiative has invited nearly 9,000 children and their families to enjoy a Box4Kids event, and the Trust works with over 100 hospitals and hospices across the UK who nominate deserving children to attend Box4Kids events.

A team from NC Associates have elected to undertake the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on 5th October and fundraise (through a JustGiving page) in support of the Box4Kids initiative. All donations raised will go directly to the Box4Kids initiative. NC Associates’ Managing Director, Wayne Caunce commented:

We’re delighted to be able to support this very worthwhile initiative with the Barrie Wells Trust. The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge will be tough, but it’s all for a good cause and I’m sure the team will do us proud!

The countdown is on for Leeds golf day

The countdown is on to the second annual golf day being hosted by NC Associates Leeds.

After last year’s inaugural event was so well received, we’ve had plenty of requests to run a similar event again this year. Hosted at Moor Allerton golf club in Leeds, this year’s event will be taking place on 2nd August 2019.

Moor Allerton Golf Club, Leeds, West Yorkshire is a 27-hole, Robert Trent Jones Sr designed golf course. It has played host to many of the golfing greats throughout the years, including PGA legends like Seve Ballesteros and Nick Faldo.

The team in NC Associates Leeds, led by Gavin Dixon are delighted to be celebrating their first anniversary today.

Gavin was keen to share some of the highlights from their first year, including:

Achieving profitability in month four
Signed up to 12 client preferred agency lists within our first 5 months of operating
Achieving a fill rate of 87% of all permanent vacancies

Gavin commented,

The opportunity to launch a new business venture and be part of a growing, well-regarded brand like NC Associates, has made for an enjoyable first year. We’re thrilled to have had such a big impact in our first year and we’ve got big plans for the future.

Following the lead of the Manchester team, we’ll be launching our business support offering shortly, expanding our sector coverage across a broader range of professional services specialisms.
